What You'll Get
Texan witches often cursed their enemies with the Tex-Mex Hex—causing them to weep ranchero sauce, sprout burritos on their arms, and turn everything they touched into refried beans. Celebrate a more benevolent form of this delectable magic with today's Groupon: for $10, you get $20 worth of Tex-Mex fare and drinks at Moe's Southwest Grill. This Groupon is only good at the Belle Isle Boulevard location.
Moe's mildly aphasic menu might seem like it was poorly translated from some inscrutable alien language, possibly Rigelian or whatever language it is that Bob Dylan speaks, but that's because Moe prefers to name things based on what makes him laugh rather than what they are. As such, the Joey Bag of Donuts ($6.09) is actually a rice and bean burrito with your choice of meat, shredded cheese, and salsa, and the Triple Lindy ($6.49) burrito binds rice, beans, and a choice of meat with cheese, salsa, and guacamole. Stubborn flat-earth holdouts can draw nautical maps on the John Coctostan (meat and bean quesadilla, $6.09). Actors attempting to gain weight in a hurry as part of their live performance of Raging Bull can try a few Fat Sams on for size (grilled chicken, steak, or tofu fajitas with lettuce, cheese, guacamole, and sour cream, $8.99). Kids, meanwhile, can join in the fun of decoding the menu and guessing at Moe's odd thought processes with a Moo Moo Mr. Cow burrito ($3.99) or a miniature quesadilla ($3.39).
Despite all the etymological shenanigans, Moe's does not joke about the freshness of its food. The eatery is so fanatical about making its sundry tacos, nachos, burritos, and salads fresh that it doesn't even own a freezer. Chicken and steak are marinated and grilled without the use of lard, animal fat, ectoplasm, or any other slimy substances. All ingredients are prepared fresh that morning. Everyone gets one Groupon, so invite along some laudable linguists and puzzle them by ordering a Ruprict ($4.69) and a few plates of Funk Meisters, Overachievers, and Unanimous Decisions (all tacos $2.49–$3.29) at Moe's Southwest Grill.
