Doctors of chiropractic help sports injuries heal with therapeutic techniques or flushes lactic acid out of fatigued muscles

Most people go to a chiropractor to treat lower-back pain, whereas only a few go just to sit in a room with another person for a while. Join the many with this Groupon.

Choose from Three Options

  • $20 for a sports-injury assessment and one treatment (a $60 value)
  • $59 for a sports-injury assessment and three treatments ($130 value)
  • $99 for muscle recovery assessment and five treatments (a $200 value)

Dr. Steven Peters and Dr. Nesrein Sweidan begin each 30-minute sports-therapy treatment by learning each patient's history. After diagnosing their ailments with orthopedic tests, they loosen muscles with percussion therapy. This treatment also removes lactic acid and stimulates circulation to speed up recovery. If needed, they may also follow up with additional treatments ranging from kinesio tape to the active release technique.

The doctors also treat endurance athletes, who tend to work their muscles to the point of exhaustion. To aid their recovery, they flush out any residual lactic acid and promote increased blood flow. This approach treats a body region, rather than a specific injury.

About Momentum Chiropractic

Like many kids, Doctor of Chiropractic Steven Peters grew up climbing trees, playing sports, and getting his fair share of injuries. None of them left him debilitated––until he woke up one morning unable to stand up. He was only 17 years old at the time. After one chiropractic adjustment, he walked out of the doctor's office. Though he went on to earn a business degree and have a successful career, he never stopped seeing a chiropractor. The treatments and practitioners nurtured Steve's fascination with the body's innate ability to heal itself. Inspired by this knowledge, Steven enrolled at the Los Angeles College of Chiropractic, earned his doctorate, and took up his post at Momentum Chiropractic.

At Momentum Chiropractic, he works alongside Dr. Nesrein Sweidan, who learned about acupuncture and Eastern medicine while becoming a Doctor of Chiropractic. Together, they help athletes and active patients improve their performance and heal after strenuous activity or really intense sofa naps.
