Monadnock Glass Arts

Monadnock Glass Arts was shaped under the finely wrought fingertips of owner and flameworker Eric Duyette, who breathes more than a decade of experience into every blown sculpture, vase, and bulb. Classes introduce students to the art of flameworking borosilicate glass by creating holiday ornaments, marbles, pendants, beads, sea-life sculptures and various functioning & non-functioning lamp worked projects. Two torch workstations dominate the intimate studio environment where Duyette instructs with an emphasis on safety and proper ventilation and equipment use.

This is a wonderful experience. Eric is a great guy, and has the perfect personality for working with total newbe's. (He is both very patient, encouraging and engaging). While this is called a glassblowing class, most of what we did was glassworking -- making a paperweight, marbles, refrigerator magnets, etc. You can however do very basic glassblowing...I made a small Christmas ornament. I highly recommend this -- if you sign up, go quick, as Eric said some never redeem their class...what a shame. Also, know you will need to make a return trip as hot glass needs a day to cool down. You might be able to arrange him shipping it to you for an extra fee. Finally, after your class, celebrate at the Highland Kitchen, as wonderful casual local restaurant ~ 3 blocks from where Eric is currently located.

This was an awesome class to take! Eric is a great teacher. He has a lot of patience, even when his students are nervous. I would definitely go again.
