During each eyelash tinting session, Monica Rosental slathers lashes with deep hues to enhance mysterious glances and flirtatious, unblinking stares. Before the Japanese perming treatment begins, Monica considers each client's eyelash length, eye shape, and wink trajectory as she selects curling rods from 42 options. Next, she glues the rods to eyelids and the eyelashes to the rods before applying two mild perming solutions, which minimize damage to the lashes. The cream solutions stay on for 10 minutes each, with minimal risk of contact with the eyes or envious nose hairs. Once both solutions have been removed, Monica applies a collagen treatment to make eyelashes shinier and healthier. Lastly, she dabs the lashes with wet cotton balls to gently detach each strand from the perming rod. Each perm treatment lasts roughly five to six weeks.
To extend eyelashes, Monica skillfully applies 20–30 clusters of four to six fine, flared lashes to clients' existing natural eyelashes with a water-resistant adhesive. Palettes of brown, blond, or black lashes in varied lengths are available, and the lashes stay put for up to three weeks. The result is fuller, natural-looking lashes, which add glamour for special events and can easily go without mascara.
Equipped with creativity and beauty skills honed at institutes in Barcelona, Spain, seasoned cosmetologist and stylist Monica Rosental brought her hair and eyelash talents stateside when she opened her salon in 2003. Her background studying painting, music, and architecture lends the eyes of an artist to her services, such as sculpting hairstyles with fresh cuts, adding texture to strands, or splashing hair with new hues. Monica's specialty is hair extensions, and she advises clients on the best type to fit their needs before tucking in clips, attaching keratin tips, or affixing tape or curtain extensions. In addition to tending hair, Monica ups eyelash potential with extensions, dyes, and perm services. Soothing music imbues the salon's private suites with a relaxing atmosphere, and a free parking area boasts enough room to fit several cars or a single brontosaurus.
