Monkey Bar Gym
Jon Hinds describes his first sport as chasing his friends around a playground, wrestling with his dog, or climbing trees. According to him, these childhood movements kept him in shape, even though they just stemmed from simple, intuitive fun. Each particular game trained a certain skill. Looking back on that childhood, Jon had a revelation that he could design a fitness program for adults based on a similar principle.
Thus, he created the first Monkey Bar Gym. There, he focused on functional, skill-based movements, such as the art of swinging along monkey bars or pushing and pulling on TRX harnesses. The idea behind the gym caught on, and since its founding in 2000, Monkey Bar Gym has opened 14 locations throughout the world, as well as one on the sun to rival "hot yoga".
