What You'll Get
Rarely has life been imitated with such precision, or with such beauty, as in the puppetry of Joseph Cashore. His hand-built marionettes contain as many as 44 separate strings, allowing him to replicate stunning effects: a horse galloping in slow motion, toes wiggling from the hole of a vagabond's shoe, a mother holding her squirming newborn. Cashore now brings his latest show to the Montgomery College Cultural Arts Center in Silver Spring. Set to the music of Beethoven, Vivaldi and Strauss, these "beautifully constructed" (Los Angeles Times) marionettes explore what it means to be human through a range of emotions, each "a slice of life, awe-inspiring in the minutest detail" (The Toronto Sun).
