What You'll Get
Glass artwork depicts scenes of vivid solemnity, immortalizing multicolored figures on church windows and preserving Pac-Man high-score screens before game-wiping power outages. Craft an artful remembrance with today's Groupon: for $47, you get a one-day fused-glass-making class at MorArt in Lincoln City (a $95 value). This workshop offers more one-on-one attention than the basic beginner glass-fusing class. During MorArt's one-day hands-on glass-making class, experienced staffers equip students with the tools and knowledge necessary to breathe life into their own original, refractive creations. After being equipped with a 10"x10" single sheet of fused glass, as well as accent materials such as spaghetti glass, students will learn how to shape, cut, and fuse the glass into colorful, vibrant art pieces. After an overnight interlude in the kiln's fiery bedchamber, the artwork is ready for the taking and can be picked up in-store, shipped for an additional fee, or delivered express via the studio's catapult. Local artist and glass master Dan Watts offers advice, instruction, and assistance to his students, but the onus lies on each individual to create a masterpiece worthy of shiny mantle display.

Local artist and glass master Dan Watts opened the doors of MorArt more than 4 years ago with a ribbon-cutting ceremony that attracted the likes of actress Tippi Hedren of Hitchcock's The Birds fame. After the confetti settled and the balloon outlines of Hitchcock's silhouette popped, Lincoln City was left with a haven for hands-on glass making.
Dan teaches the art of glass fusing during one-on-one sessions or group classes. Equipping students with the tools, materials, and knowledge necessary, he lets them roam free to breathe life into their own refractive creations. Though he remains on-hand for advice, instruction, and assistance, the onus lies on each individual to create a masterpiece worthy of mantel display. Once students finish, Dan fires up his kiln's bedchamber so that each piece can stay and solidify overnight. Masterworks can be shipped for an additional fee, delivered express via the studio's catapult, or picked up from the store along with a few pieces of Dan's original work.
