Art helps people reach a wide audience without shouting from the top of radio towers, provocatively dancing behind a local TV field reporter, or tying speech bubbles to migrating birds. Express yourself with this Groupon.

  • $34 for a fused-glass workshop (a $95 value)
  • $59 for a fused-glass workshop for two (a $190 value)

During a single one-to-two-hour session, artist Dan Watts works one-on-one with each students as they learn how to shape, cut, and fuse together multicolored pieces of spaghetti, frit, and powdered glass to create a 10”x10” sheet of flat or hanging glass art. Mor Art will provide all necessary equipment and materials, and will fire each complete piece overnight before students return to pick it up.

Local artist and glass master Dan Watts opened the doors of MorArt more than 4 years ago with a ribbon-cutting ceremony that attracted the likes of actress Tippi Hedren of Hitchcock's The Birds fame. After the confetti settled and the balloon outlines of Hitchcock's silhouette popped, Lincoln City was left with a haven for hands-on glass making.

Dan teaches the art of glass fusing during one-on-one sessions or group classes. Equipping students with the tools, materials, and knowledge necessary, he lets them roam free to breathe life into their own refractive creations. Though he remains on-hand for advice, instruction, and assistance, the onus lies on each individual to create a masterpiece worthy of mantel display. Once students finish, Dan fires up his kiln's bedchamber so that each piece can stay and solidify overnight. Masterworks can be shipped for an additional fee, delivered express via the studio's catapult, or picked up from the store along with a few pieces of Dan's original work.

Just a heads up, you get clear glass. If you want a colored background, it's an additional $20 per piece. Very friendly guys though!
