Come build on the basics of Salsa dancing on 2. Popularized in New York, Salsa on2 can be described as being more fluid, subtle, and constant. This class is a step above a Beginner class which means a strong knowledge of salsa on2 basics are required. We focus on our very own unique style of Salsa on 2 by building on foundational patterns, footwork, timing, and technique. This is a great class for anyone wanting to advance in the art of Salsa dancing, and will grow your understanding of the flavor of Salsa dancing and the music. No need to bring a partner, as we rotate partners in class.
2. INTERMEDIATE SALSA ON2 SHINES @8PM
"Shines" means solo footwork (no partnering). We always begin class with an energetic warm-up, followed by an amazing Salsa on 2 shines routine set to a fun, high-energy salsa song. The instructor, Joel, brings his unique understanding for the vibrant musicality of salsa music making for a highly energetic hour of cardio and dance. You can expect to be challenged in this class, taking your salsa footwork to a more advanced level. Great music, fun community, make for a creative safe space to always ask questions, and more importantly, have a blast! Salsa shines have been proven to enhance:
- Increased foot speed and agility
- Better balance for turns and spins
- Sharpened dance memory/learning routines faster
- Increased body flexibility and movement
