Q:

Other than the upper floors of the mansion, how accessible are the grounds and museum for older people using a walker?

michael r.  asked on  Oct 31, 2011

A:

It's a historic estate, so there is some walking involved to get to the mansion and to explore the grounds. We do have wheelchairs available on site, and you may borrow them if you wish. We have more information about accessibility posted here: http://www.mountvernon.org/visit-his-estate/plan-your-visit/hours-and-directions/accessibility-information.

Q:

Are there any blackout days that I would not be able to use these tickets for? Example, my Mom is coming here for Thanksgiving with my brother and it's there first time to DC. Needless to say this would be a great stop that Friday or weekend following Thanksgiving. I didn't see anthing in the discription but wanted to be sure before I purchased tickets. Thanks!

A:

No, there are not any blackout dates as Mount Vernon is open 365 days of the year! However, please note that this Groupon is valid only for daytime admission and cannot be used for the Candlelight evening tours.
