The view is well worth climbing the 227 steps to the top!! The staff was fantastic, friendly and gave us the best tip...TAKE BREAKS!! Climb just before closing in the winter to get a sunset view of Baltimore!

Friendly staff and low cost. However, there is no 360-degree view of the city. You can only view the outside from a few narrow windows at the top. Also, please be advised that walking up and down the spiral stairs may cause dizziness. Would not recommend for someone who is claustrophobic.

Great deal and a great experience! Even though I wasn't able to reserve a time to climb the monument with this groupon I had no trouble using it when I arrived. The gentleman on site was personable and gave my family and I a detailed overview of the monument and surrounding area. Even though it was a cold and wet afternoon the climb and view from the top was memorable.

Very friendly staff. Climb was not as hard or area was not as small as I expected. But the view was just mediocre.

A great experience! I’m homeschooling my children and it was a great opportunity to use this visit as a field trip tool for their education. Baltimore is filled with rich opportunities to explore and we’ve found so many more here on Groupon.

About Washington Monument

Eighteen months and $6 million: that's what it took the Mount Vernon Place Conservancy to return the Washington Monument to its former glory. After being closed since 2010, that restoration effort enabled the grand re-opening on July 4, 2015—exactly 200 years after the Monument's original cornerstone was laid. Now, visitors are welcome back inside, past the bust of George himself, past the bronze plaque memorializing the centennial, past the gallery space with its virtual touchscreen tours of the Monument's exterior and interior, and to the foot of the stairs. Because here the most thrilling part of history is the view from the top. After climbing a tower consisting of 227 marble steps, visitors can look out over the city of Baltimore from roughly 250 feet above sea level.
