Situated a scenic 2.5 hours outside of Boston, the Omni Mount Washington Hotel is a luxurious masterpiece of Spanish Renaissance architecture dripping with Tiffany-stained glass, crystal chandeliers, sentient but harmless maple syrup, and turn-of-the-century elegance. It's nestled in the majestic White Mountains of New Hampshire, providing scenes worthy of a View-Master. Each room is stocked with comfy beds and high-speed Internet—none of which will come into play until your return from the Bretton Woods ski area, which is a snowball's throw from the front steps of the hotel.
Bretton Woods is New Hampshire's largest ski area, with 434 acres of snowy landscape to navigate. There are 10 lifts in all, so you'll hardly have to wait to be whisked up-slope. On your descent back toward sea level, you'll carve the hills with your skis while you etch memories into your brain of the dreamy white getaway that helped you successfully avoid the IRS a few extra days.
A one-day getaway is often all it takes for a full recuperation from everyday stress, making this a perfect way for a couple of snowbirds to escape life while simultaneously rediscovering it.
Not valid on Friday and Saturday nights, for existing reservations, or for group reservations. Blackout dates are April 5–6, 2010. A 9% tax is not included with your Groupon, but the amenity fee is included. Also valid at the Bretton Arms Inn (subject to availability).
Reviews
TripAdvisors give the Omni Mount Washington Resort four owl eyes, and a lone Yahoo! Traveler rates it a perfect five. TravelPostmen applaud the retreat's beautiful setting:
- It is a classic hotel, in a beautiful setting, with great ski conditions and excellent food. – TravelPost reviewer
- The hotel is old, but extremely well maintained, and I felt like I was in the luxury of a different era. It has gorgeous architectural features, including many Tiffany windows, a huge fireplace with a moose, and spacious porches, and the foliage was also gorgeous. – JoyceK4, TripAdvisor
- From the beginning, the front desk staff made a great first impression by being cheerful, helpful and overall pleasant to deal with. Not only was our room available for early check-in, but we were told our room had been upgraded to a corner room – both very exciting after a long day of driving! The Front desk staff did a good job of explaining how to get to our room, where things were, using the shuttle, etc. The lobby of the hotel was very comfortable and inviting. – JDFTravels, TripAdvisor
