What You'll Get
If grapes could talk, they'd recount their dreams, the first time they got plucked, and the first time they felt victimized by nature's rumor mill—the vine. Taste the tales of the grape with today's Groupon to Mountain View Vintners. Choose between two options:
- For $46, you get two bottles of chardonnay and two bottles of cabernet sauvignon (a $92 value, including tax and shipping).
- For $46, you get two bottles of chardonnay and two bottles or pinot noir (a $92 value, including tax and shipping).
Building on an idea that first fruited in the Burgundy and Bordeaux regions of France, Mountain View Vintners is one of California's first négociant wineries—its winemakers concoct the vintages by curating, blending, and aging a collection of grapes from an assortment of rigorously vetted vineyards. The 2009 Mountain View Monterey chardonnay shores the aromas of tropical fruits against an invigorating acidity. In a bottle of 2006 Napa Valley cabernet sauvignon, earthy spices and black currant overtones warm the vintage with a hug straight from Mother Earth. Aged in French oak barrels for 10 months, the 2009 Mountain View Carneros pinot noir drops onto doorsteps and tempts palates with cherry and plum aromas, an oak finish, and tales of brief affairs with myriad mailpeople. All three kinds of wines promise to please if opened immediately but, unlike petulant genies, also mature nicely in the bottle.

About Mountain View Winery
Building on an idea that first fruited in the Burgundy and Bordeaux regions of France, Mountain View Winery became one of California's first négociant wineries in 1978, its winemakers concocting vintages by curating, blending, and aging a harvest of grapes from rigorously vetted vineyards. Owner Angelo Pera strives to deliver a compelling product by partnering with organic growers and packaging companies and indoctrinates new or interested customers during spirit-sampling symposiums. Throughout tastings, visitors glean each grape's origin, method of production, and propensity for carpet staining.
