About Mt. Norquay
When it opened to the public in 1926, Mt. Norquay became the first ski area in the Canadian Rockies. Stretching high above the quaint village of Banff, the mountain's 190 acres of powder-rich terrain still remains one of the country's most beloved.
Come the thaw, the mountains promise just as much activity. Home to grizzly and black bear, marvel at the spectacular views of Mt. Rundle and Bow Valley as you travel up an epic 8-minute open-air chairlift ride. Hikers come from all over the world to explore the deep, untouched wilds of Banff National Park, where glacier-fed lakes and towering peaks promise unforgettable views. For a truly unique expedition, Mt. Norquay's seasoned guides invite families to conquer the peak climbing via ferrata. Climbing ladders bored directly into the rock, guests will scale cliff faces and traverse suspension bridges high into the alpine environment.
No matter when or how visitors choose to explore Mt. Norquay, they can rest assured that the Cliffhouse Bistro will be at the ready to serve their refueling needs. In the summer months, the newly refurbished Cliffhouse serves up flavorful meals inspired by the mountains themselves.
At the height of the snow season, skiers will find fantastic terrain to suit all abilities. Families and friends alike will enjoy a trip to Tube Town to ride down the eight speedy sliding lanes. Norquay has the longest tubing lanes in Western Canada.
