Kids aged kindergarten–12 years learn sports from ice skating to flag football to dodgeball to basketball during half-day camp

The Deal

  • $69 for one week of multisport camp ($139 value)

The summer camp introduces junior athletes to organized sports using Nytex Sports Centre’s massive set of fields, courts, and the ice rink. Under the supervision of experienced coaches, campers aged 6–12 tucker themselves out with a medley of dodgeball, basketball, flag football, broomball, figure skating, and ice hockey (participants must bring their own ice hockey safety gear). Campers can choose to attend morning or afternoon sessions, but must attend the same session for the whole week—morning sessions run daily from 8:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m., and afternoon sessions run from 1:15 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

A typical day begins with check-in, followed by about an hour of ice or field activities, after which children rotate to a different sport each hour. For an additional $6 per day, a noontime lunch can be provided from ZuRoma Sicilian Kitchen.

About Multisport Summer Camp - Nytex Sports Center

On any given day, NYTEX Sports Centre's expansive compound—with plentiful courts, fields, and an ice rink—can simultaneously host youth soccer, a women's flat-track roller derby, and a rowdy Brahmas ice hockey game. A hub for both world-class competitors and recreational athletes of all kinds, the 140,000-square-foot facility welcomes casual skaters to explore the same full-size rink the pros play on during open-skate sessions and amateur hockey leagues. Birthday-party packages also grant rink access to partygoers for celebratory skating and "Happy Birthday" songs sung by a chorus of revving Zambonis. Special community events like the annual Armed Forces Hockey Classic call the sport's complex their home, while the on-site Italian restaurant ZuRoma replenishes calories spent cheering on favorite teams.
