Life is full of unanswered questions, such as who really built the pyramids, how Swiss cheese gets its holes, and what the "J" in Michael J. Fox stands for. Get to the bottom of a solvable mystery with today's Groupon: for $30, you get one ticket to dinner and a whodunit performance (a $60 value) by The Murder Mystery Company at the Baker House 1885, located in Lake Geneva. Show dates and times are listed in the sidebar to the right; call or email to reserve your show.
The two-hour murder-mystery dinner is an evening of mock murder and faux fatalities unfolding along with a three-course meal. You’ll cast a spooky shadow in the candlelit dining room, which is a comfy second-floor space with a fireplace and chandeliers. While mouths are busy munching food, minds clue in on the trouble afoot. The comic mystery begins with a murder. A detective soon arrives on the scene and suspects all audience members as possible perpetrators. Work with your tablemates to clear your good name, slyly sleuthing and sorting out clues to determine the identity of the killer. Is it the invisible butler only you seem to be able to see, or could the heart of a homicidal maniac linger within the cardiganed exterior of an elderly dinner date? Anybody and everybody is a suspect.
The performance ends with the signature death-by-chocolate-fondue; other menu options are different depending on the performance date and will be specified when you purchase your tickets. Though drinks are not included with this Groupon, there will be drink specials available during the show. All guests will receive a photo slideshow from the performance as a way to fondly remember the light-hearted night of death.
- Unanimously, this will go down as one of the best team building events that we have had so far. Many people said they have not laughed so hard for ages, and you can put me on that list, a long overdue good time. This surpassed my expectations! – Debbie Wagner, customer testimonial
- We were so pleased and charmed with…the wonderful food and hours spent singing in the parlor with other diners and Mr. Potts the piano man. Like others mentioned, it was like visiting a friend's fabulous old home - an unforgettable night for us all! – LynneFive, TripAdvisor
The Murder Mystery Company
It's not every day that a dinner with friends risks a murder accusation. That's a good possibility for the guests of The Murder Mystery Company, who find themselves in the middle of a investigation for which any one of them could stand accused by a hapless detective. During each interactive dinner, the company's troupe of professional improv actors ignites the dining room with entertaining outbursts and hilarious one-liners in an effort to divulge clues and redirect guilt. Meanwhile, guests work together to sniff out the real culprit, which is definitely not the school janitor in a mask. Birthday parties, bachelorette celebrations, and corporate events can also get in on the interactive action by scheduling a private murder-mystery dinner.
