The infinite beauty of the string instrument is on display in String/Awakening from MUSE/IQUE, "the not-for-profit counter-conventional orchestra." It will be an evening of performance and discussion filled with gorgeous sounds, sights -- and scents. The Pasadena warehouse of Jacob Maarse, Southern California's most famous florist, provides the setting for this truly immersive sensory experience, orchestrated by artistic director/conductor Rachel Worby. The event will feature string favorites from across centuries, ranging from Bach's Brandenberg Concerto to Mendelssohn's octet to Piazolla's tangos.
