Pleasant, safe, educational and beautiful. It's a unique offering in the region, too.

Testigos / Witnesses was a well-curated exhibition. It captured the everyday-life of the indigenous Otomi community in Mexico. Impressively, artist Gaal captured the strength and bold character of this community by showing its liveliness. This was my first visit to Museo De Las Americas, and it was a remarkable experience of how well curated this exhibition was.

The current exhibit of Mesoamerican musical instruments was fascinating and presented dozens of objects from the Denver Art Museum that are rarely, if ever, on display. The new "Mission" exhibit in the Folk Art gallery is extremely well-done. The fabulous model of Uxmal's Pyramid of the Magician has also made a welcome reappearance.

Self guided museum. Not very busy. Located in a beautiful arts district with plenty of art galleries nearby. Authentic Latino culture & art. Loved it. Small, so expect a short visit but the staff were welcoming and the artwork speaks volumes! Thank you!

About Museo de las Americas

Since their founding in 1991, the Museo de las Americas has hewn true to a mission of celebrating the diversity of Latino Americano art. A permanent collection of more than 4,000 artifacts ranging from pre-Columbian times to the colonial era to contemporary creators provides a strikingly clear delineation of the history of Latin American culture. Temporary exhibits have explored the art of the Huichol people, whose culture remains uniquely intact even after centuries of colonial influence, and the surrealist work of Daniel Luna, which recalls Salvador Dali.
