A Beloved Chicago Holiday Tradition

Enjoy a one-of-a-kind seasonal celebration by joining us for Christmas Around the World and Holidays of Light, a Chicago tradition that began in 1942 with a single tree dedicated to the Allies of World War II. A breathtaking 45-foot Grand Tree takes center stage, surrounded by more than 50 smaller trees beautifully decorated to represent cultures and holiday traditions from around the globe. Stroll through the trees, enjoy intermittent falling “snow” and savor the performances on the Holiday Stage! MSI members receive free admission.

Brick by Brick

MSI’s new temporary exhibit, Brick by Brick, will feature a spectacular collection of more than a dozen giant LEGO®-built engineering marvels, including a 60-foot long Golden Gate Bridge, the International Space Station, Hoover Dam and Roman Coliseum, constructed by LEGO® Certified Professional and Chicago native, Adam Reed Tucker. These cool constructions will be paired with hands-on building challenges that reinforce principles of engineering, construction and architecture—and encourage creativity! Opening in March 2016. MSI members will receive discounted special exhibition passes and an invitation to a private exhibit viewing.
