A Juilliard graduate and former child prodigy who made his debut with the New York Philharmonic at the age of nine, acclaimed pianist Daniel Pollack has since had an exciting musical career traversing the globe. Among his adventures include playing a Prokofiev concerto during a citywide power outage, due to an accidental squirrel electrocution, and performing on a piano that rolled away from him and crashed on a marble floor. Pollack is immensely popular in Russia, but he's also performed with most of the world's great orchestras, including those in Vienna, Hong Kong, Kiev, Cairo, Seoul, Bogota and London, as well as the Los Angeles and San Francisco Philharmonics. The evening's eclectic program at Temple Emanu-El includes selections from Chopin, Liszt, Menotti and Prokofiev and will hopefully not include any runaway instruments or unlucky squirrels.
