What You'll Get
The acclaimed Polish Baltic Philharmonic Orchestra spotlights one of its homeland's most famous sons, Frederic Chopin, at the Music Hall Center as part of the symphony's American tour, which includes 48 concerts in 19 states. Pianist Marcin Koziak takes the lead on the composer's lovely Piano Concerto in F minor, which Chopin wrote at the tender age of 20 and performed himself at its 1830 premiere in Warsaw. The concert's also set to include works by Wieniawski, Wagner, Beethoven, Tchaikovsky and Rimsky-Korsakov. Now celebrating its 70th anniversary, the orchestra comes to Detroit direct from Gdansk, under the baton of their principal guest conductor Boguslaw Dawidow.
