The beginner class we purchased only took my 10 yr old one day to complete. I was hoping it would take several weeks to a month. It was great material and he loved doing it, but not sure it was worth $50 (definitely not worth the original price without the groupon).

My eight year old loves it! He’s learning how to make Minecraft mods and is really proud of his achievements. The video instruction is very kid friendly with young instructors who know how to engage youngsters.

My son is 6 and has been coding with Lego WeDo 1.0 and 2.0 since he was about 3.5 years old and was looking for something more rigorous. I was nervous because it said ages 8 and up but decided to give CodaKid a try bc of Groupon. He loves it! The instructors are great and he needs very little help from me. Usually he just has a missed semicolon. I definitely recommend this program Groupon or not. It is worth full price.

CodaKid was really easy to sign up for and there are a lot of class choices. The instruction videos are very clear and it's great that you can rewatch them if something goes wrong in your code. All of the mistakes my son (age 10) has made in his code have been easy enough to fix or find answers for and there is a way to contact the company for help if you get really stuck. I think your kid would have to really love coding to truly LEARN it, but my son HAS enjoyed being able to make his own minecraft creations without all the steps in game to get them. Overall, I think the groupon deal is a good way for your kid to try code inexpensively and give you an idea if you want to pursue further instruction.
