After the founder of JewelryUDesign lost her baby to a miscarriage, she knew she wanted to always carry the memory of her child with her in some way. But she couldn’t find the appropriate token to honor her loss. So she decided to make her own—she and her husband printed their baby’s sonogram onto a pendant necklace. They were inspired to share their technique with others, starting an online jewelry shop where people can commission their own custom designs. There are plenty of premade designs, too, including medical ID pendants engraved with quirky illustrations or pendants etched with kids’ drawings and handwritten messages like “Tell this lady to buy me a pony.”
