What services does your business offer and what makes your business stand out from the competition?
I am the only real Italian chef in Portland. I bring recipes from my mamma’s kitchen in Naples. Cooking classes in your own kitchen, private dinners, weddings, and more. I use only top quality ingredients and passion to make real Italian dishes. To get this authenticity, you’d have to fly to Italy.
What was the inspiration to start or run this business?
I grew up in the kitchen with smells, flavors, and fresh foods entering into my soul. My family owns restaurants in Italy, and I have always been a part of that. In America, I wish to share the beauty of simple, healthy, and delicious Italian food following the Mediterranean way of life and cuisine.
What do you love most about your job?
I love to see the look on people’s faces when they eat my food, sometimes remembering the meatballs their grandma used to make. Satisfaction from my table mates keeps me inspired to propose new dishes and talking about Italy over some wine and great food is life to me. I love to teach food and wine.
What is the best reaction you’ve ever gotten from a customer?
One man had tears in his eyes as he ate my lasagna. The flavor reminded him of his late grandmother’s cooking. As I walked into the dining room they all burst out in applause, and the 12 hours in the kitchen were washed away. One lady was actually licking clean her gnocchi plate.
