About National Comedy Hall Of Fame
Founded in 1991, at the L.A. Friar’s Club, the National Comedy Hall of Fame Museum is the first official comedy history museum of the United States. This 501-(C) 3 not-for-profit entity, located in beautiful downtown Holiday, pays tribute to the legacy of all forms of comedy in history and the laughter people have enjoyed over all these years. They preserve and celebrate the history of comedy and honor its legends who spent their lives trying to make the world a better, happier place with humor and laughter. In the museum, there are exhibits on the history of theatre from the early Greeks up until the Reconstruction Era of the United States. Here, every form of comedy is celebrated - showcasing the works of vaudeville, stand-up, radio, television and film. Guests travel through time and observe the changes that took place in the comedic industry in different media, including radio, television, and modern cinema while learning the entertaining history of comedy from 1787 to the present day.thanks to the diverse exhibits and rare artifacts from Jack Benny, Phyllis Diller, Laurel & Hardy, SNL and many more.
