For $30, today's deal gets you one ticket to The National MS Society's MSquerade at The Brewerie at Union Station in historic downtown Erie (a $55 value). The charity event takes place on Saturday, March 19, 2011, from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., and proceeds benefit education programs and support services for the estimated 7,300 people in the Western Pennsylvania Chapter territory diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. A chronic, often disabling disease, multiple sclerosis attacks the central nervous system, often in the prime years of an adult's life, and causes symptoms ranging from numbness of the limbs to paralysis and loss of vision.
A ticket to the Mardi Gras–themed event includes admission, three drink tickets, appetizers and larger offerings from traditional Cajun-style stations, and dessert. Ladies and germs dressed in their Bourbon Street finest will be treated to silent and live auctions, raffles, music by Erie's own DJ Shawn Steele, a performance by Dance Elite Performance Company featuring Brent Fallon, beer tastings compliments of The Brewerie, and a kaleidoscope of colorful beads and masks.
