Chopin specialist Brian Ganz, famed for his decade-long quest to publicly perform all of the composer's 200-plus works, returns to the National Philharmonic for a concert featuring the Polish master's Bel Canto of the Piano. Also from Poland, soprano Iwona Sobotka will join Ganz on a selection of rarely performed songs. In writing about Maryland native Ganz, The Washington Post says there isn't much about Chopin that he doesn't know, and notes, "His delight and wonder in this music seem to grow, apparently without bounds, as time goes on." Watch him and Sobotka perform a selection of Nocturnes, the Impromptu No. 1 in A-flat Major, Op. 29, and the monumental Sonata No. 3 in B minor, Op. 58.
