Great vineyard and tasting experience. We especially enjoyed talking to Tammy about her childhood in the area and close connection to the land.

Tammy Joe and Mike run an amazing Vineyard and Farm. The most most delicious wine I’ve ever had :) and it was a very personal and intimate tour. Great energy, beautiful scenery, love relaxing kitchen house where you can sip your free bottle of wine and enjoy some delicious goat cheese and crackers. Welcoming to all ages (21+) and demographics. I was pleased to support this business.

Mike and Tammy Jo were amazing hosts. Even after forgetting to make a wine tasting appointment, they still honored our wine tasting experience. They gave us an amazing evening in a nice, quiet, secluded place and we couldn’t have asked for a better first experience.

Mike made this vineyard tour very genuine and personable. All of the wines are organic, unique in taste, and FRESH! This is a small business you want to support.

Mike was very friendly and made us feel at home. He gave us a generous tasting of all their wines, then led us "up the hill" where the winemaking facility is located. He was right when he said "This is a tour unlike any other you've been on". After an explanation of how they make and store their wines, he showed us many antique artifacts that he keeps onsite as well as a horse drawn carriage. He even insisted on taking our picture in the carriage. After that, we went to a nearby cabin that he owns which overlooks the Uhwharrie mountains. We were there by ourselves, and enjoyed a bottle of wine and goat cheese (also sold by the vineyard) and crackers while sitting on the back porch and enjoying the beautiful long range view which included horses and other animals kept by Mike and his wife. All in all, we felt like family and would definitely like to go back for the wine as well as the delicious pepper jelly that Mike's wife makes from the wine.

We had the best time! The actual tasting space is small so don’t make the mistake I did 🤦🏾‍♀️ call ahead to book your appointment. This husband and wife team is amazing! The care about the environment and go above and beyond to make sure you have a great experience. I absolutely love horses and had no idea I was going to be able to pet & feed rescue animals. Get the wine and the chow chow!

About Native Son Vineyard

Rows of ripe muscadine grapes sprawling on the hills overlooking Caraway and Daves mountains amaze visitors. Formerly a dairy pasture, the vineyard at Native Son Vineyard came to life as a result of hard work of family and friends and now greets wine lovers to fine varietals of their beloved drink. And Native Son Vineyard delivers an array of their own wines prepared from different cultivars. The Twisted Spirit, for example, is a dark wine made from the Noble muscadines and delights with its blackberry hint. The Golden Warrior, on the other hand, pleases visitors with the aroma of the bronze muscadines, Carlos and Magnolia. These and a few more, accompanied by the expansive views of the vineyard, are bound to make for an unforgettable experience!
