Did the deep tissue which was amazing!! Very little lotion on the back (everything else was done over the sheet), no music or very quiet which was weird at first but you do quickly forget. He did ask for a tip at the end which was strange but I'm sure they get stiffed since it's through Groupon, so I had no problem. It was really good and worth checking out. I'll be back for the hot stone!
The guy who helped me did an amazing job working out my knots. He had a strong touch, which was what I needed. However, it was not the typical massage I was expecting. The massage was completely dry, no oil or lotion involved which I felt was strange and which definitely took out that relaxing compartment I feel. I booked the appointment online and the agent was extremely slow in getting back to me and the times that were stated available on the website wasn't even available. While he asked me to pay for the tax at the end which was normal, he also straight up requested for a tip and asked me to pay him $11.75 at the end of the appointment for tax + tip included. Last time I checked, tips was always based on discretion, not mandatory. Don't get me wrong, I do tip, but I found it a bit intimidating to be asked to tip a certain amount. I most likely will not go back; it was not as relaxing as I had expected.
To be clear - treatment gets a 5/5, excellent deep tissue. My rating is due to other reasons:
I see on website indicates free parking at parking lot so I didn’t give myself time to search for parking on Broadway. Parking is from “last year” was told and had to pay $10 for my 90mins. Then, tax and tip. Are autoincluded which is disillusioned for another $3 tax and $14 something SELFtip. Rude.
Massage was okay, I’ve had better deep tissues massages before. I felt like I was poked the entire time versus normal massage techniques. Room was cold and nosey. What is with the mandatory tip, this is optional based on service experienced ? I wouldn’t return again.
Peter was thorough with the massage but I definitely had better experience. The place could use an upgrade. And the mandatory tip (~18% ?) plus tax at the end was confusing. The hot tea after the session was a nice touch. Overall if you don’t have serious muscles issues it’s worth a try.
Practitioner was very welcoming and the place was very clean. I enjoyed the warm tea at the end.
I suggest warmer atmosphere with relaxing music. Tip must be always voluntary and based on satisfaction and nothing set a default.
Overall is was OK even though I was in face down position throughout the 90 min and my feet sole was not touched!
