What You'll Get
Bruised, store-bought peaches, which keep trying to tell their story about how bully grapefruits used to relentlessly roll into them, taste like mushy sadness. Today’s deal fills you up with cheery, fresh produce. For $15, you get a box of local produce delivered to your doorstep from Nature's Garden Delivered (a $32 value). This price includes delivery, and there is no sales tax, but you must be within the radius of Nature’s Garden’s Louisville delivery area.
The service starts with a choice of small fruit box, veggie box, or mixed box of both. Each box includes a palate-pleasing assortment of edibles. The contents change each week, depending on what’s in season and how many are pilfered in transit by a hungry moose. The fruit box has items such as Fuji apples, bananas, red grapefruits, Galia melons, yellow flesh peaches, D'Anjou pears, and red plums, whereas the veggie box has seasonal greens including red leaf lettuce, white spring onions, bell peppers, and squash. Shoppers have the option to substitute or add items to their orders, just like at less-healthy deep-fried sundae buffets, but without the guilt or stomach explosions. Much of Nature’s Garden's produce is organic, and most is locally grown. Owners Isaac Foust and Annalise Appel run a carbon-neutral facility that recycles or composts all of its waste.
Produce boxes are delivered between 1 a.m. and 7 a.m. on your selected delivery day, ensuring that the order arrives fresh. A box of fruit, vegetables, or both allows you to escape a preservative- and pesticide-filled life without leaving home or building a protective toffee bodysuit. The surprise farm-bounty packages will also encourage you to get creative in the kitchen, instead of falling back on your go-to meal of “Hot Pockets dipped in whatever condiments the Chinese place threw in the bag.”
Though customers in Louisville have yet to write reviews for Nature's Garden Delivered, customers in Atlanta are raving about the produce. Three Yahoo!
