Master tailor Peter Navin employs 40 years of experience when crafting made-to-measure, Savile Row–style menswear from more than 350 fabrics and patterns. The journey to dapperdom begins in person with measurements, when Peter’s tailor’s tape precisely marks the breadth of the chest and the length of the inseam, securing an effortless fit for a jacket that doesn’t tug, trousers that don’t drag, and pockets that don’t reach into other dimensions. Clients choose a fabric from world-class mills such as Holland & Sherry that produce worsted woolen in the Super 100s to 200s. Peter cuts the suit to the client’s preference, sowing on functional buttons and ticket pockets and draping the jacket with half- or full-canvas, depending on the fabric chosen.
Custom shirting also adheres to Peter’s precision tailoring to avoid awkward cuff-chaperoned handshakes. With the fit fulfilled, clients choose a collar and a color or pattern (French cuffs or monogram may be added for $15). Peruse Navin’s Custom Clothiers’ gallery for an impressive array of garb and garb gallants, including lawyers, NBA coaches and players, and a rare photograph of Frankenstein on prom night.
