Three large display hangars spanning 75,000 square feet supply ample room for groups of 20–30 guests to chase knowledgeable guides and pursue autographs from legendary aircraft. While delving into stories about the fearless pilots responsible for the advancement of flight, patrons can explore exhibits such as the Military Exhibit Hangar. Computer simulators and a WWII memorial to the 57th fighter group greet guests in the exhibit, whereas the Civilian Hangar Showcase Arena hosts displays on the Wright brothers’ engines and historic squadrons including the Tuskegee Airmen and the Lafayette Escadrille of WWI. About New England Air Museum

It takes three large exhibit hangars to hold New England Air Museum’s large collection of more than 100 aircraft. The collection encompasses helicopters, gyrocopters, and gliders. There’s even the Silas Brooks Balloon Basket, a basket circa-1870 that’s thought to be the oldest surviving aircraft in the United States. Modern aircraft are featured as well, such as helicopters and supersonic jets. A variety of special events run periodically, such as kid-friendly demonstrations that explain the scientific principles that make flight possible. Visit the website for more information.
