Q:

My son is considering becoming a helicopter pilot. What does the academy charge for this?

Scott W.  asked on  Feb 11, 2013

A:

Sorry for the delay! This Groupon is only valid for an introductory lesson. If you're interested in a more extensive program, I suggest checking out the Academy's website by clicking here! Pricing varies depending on the type of license you're interested in. Once you're on the merchant's website, you can click the links for Private Pilot, Commercial Pilot, or Professional Pilot for information about the training involved and the price.

Q:

If the helicopter holds only two people do we each get the 50-minute ground school together followed by two half-hour flights for each of us, all for $229?

Richard E.  asked on  Feb 6, 2013

A:

When two people schedule their flights consecutively, we will typically teach the "two" ground sessions simultaneously (both people in the same classroom). After the ground session, one person at a time will go out and fly with their instructor.

Q:

I have a 14 year old who has an interest to become a helicopter pilot. Would it be possible for him to take this lesson?

Deb P.  asked on  Feb 6, 2013

A:

There is no age requirement but there is a size requirement. The person needs to be able to bend their knees while sitting upright in a normal chair. This will ensure they are tall enough to be properly secured in the helicopter.
