About New Orleans Creole Cookery

For a taste of New Orleans cuisine and history under one roof, look no further than New Orleans Creole Cookery. Housed in a historic French Quarter building—and also the rumored home of three resident ghosts—the restaurant is the newest venture from the Tusa family, who's legacy in the NOLA cooking scene can be traced all the way back to 1945.

Today, they're keeping tradition alive with their authentic Creole cuisine—a distinctly New Orleans style of cooking that blends French, Spanish, and African influences. Blackened redfish is a house specialty, though the menu also incorporates everything from spice-stuffed jambalaya to oysters on the half shell, with a wide spectrum of pastas, lobster dishes, sausages, and grilled shellfish in between. And, of course, there's a full menu of cocktails, perfect for sipping on the restaurant's patio or in the elegant, main dining room—especially on a night when live jazz musicians are in attendance.
