Chopsticks are like barrettes: they can be used as hair accessories, but they’re only good for fending off enemies if you’re a well-trained assassin. Perfect your esculent stick-wielding skills with today’s Groupon: for $18, you get one ticket to a Tastes of Chinatown tour from New York Food Tours (up to a $38.92 value).

New York Food Tours takes locals and visitors alike on expeditions across a plethora of historical culinary locales in neighborhoods throughout the city, including the rain-or-shine Tastes of Chinatown tour. A friendly, Chinatown-native guide ferries groups of up to 16 through an eye-feast of local historical sites, eateries, and shops. For an additional $12 fee, explorers can sample eats such as Cantonese barbecue, dim sum pastries, Cantonese jerky, Pekingese dumplings, or crispy scallion pancakes for impromptu games of food frisbee. While taking in the sights, flavor seekers will also have the option to stop and purchase samples of exotic ice creams and various bubble teas to complete their cultural immersion and transform their tongues into paper dragons. Each tour includes tastings of complimentary Chinese teas and popular snacks hailing from Hong Kong.

Customer Reviews

Food was really delicious. I do plan on going back to those locations and hope that the food is as hot and delicious as it was on the tour.

Our tour guide, Candy, was great. Only problem was NYC was very crowded and difficult to get around Chinatown with the crowds...also due to the crowds the tour took nearly 3 hours...longer then we expected. The food was all good...

Tour guide, Candy, was very experienced and informative. She clearly liked what she was doing, and her enthusiasm communicated itself to the large group.
