I would like to say they should keep it a little cleaner and refresh the exhibits a bit more often, but I realize the kind of visitors they get most (children) and funding can be problems that challenge the ability to do such things.

About This Deal

Science can be a frightening word, particularly when it's listed under "cause of death" and followed by three exclamation marks. Overcome your fear of knowledge with today's Groupon: for $19, you get two admissions, including a round of mini golf and access to the Science Playground, at the New York Hall of Science (a $19 value each for adults; a $15 value each for children ages 2–17 and college students; up to a $38 total value).

Originally built as a pavilion for the 1964 World's Fair, today the New York Hall of Science keeps synapses firing with more than 450 interactive exhibits. Armed with the combination ticket, two guests roam the Hall of Science on an all-day jaunt, exploring permanent hands-on exhibits that showcase the mysterious world of microbes, the existence of atoms, and a wide range of mathematics. Temporary and touring exhibitions are also showcased throughout the year, including Charlie and Kiwi's Evolutionary Adventure, a kid-friendly story that follows Charlie back in time as he learns about the kiwi, its ancestors, and why all New Zealanders used to have wings.

Take a break from overpacking brains with knowledge with a romp at the outdoor Science Playground, where kids of all ages can explore and play on playground equipment and oodles of exhibits such as a water wheel, giant seesaw, and a ball run. At the nine-hole Rocket Park Mini Golf course, players can sink putts on a spaceship-inspired course, dodging spacecrafts, rockets, and Buzz Aldrin, as two actual NASA rockets loom in the background.

About New York Hall of Science

Originally built for the 1964 World's Fair to showcase technological advancements, the New York Hall of Science has since transformed into an interactive museum and leading innovator in exhibit technology and educational programming that, since 1986, has seen more than 7 million visitors. Today, more than 450 interactive exhibits, along with 3D movies and live daily demonstrations, invite visitors of all ages to explore the world by watching living microbes thrive and evolve in a miniscule zoo, discovering the powerful mathematics hidden in everyday objects, and testing their understanding of physics in the science playground, along with the mini-golf course inspired by the cosmos. One of the featured programs, Design Lab, consists of five visually and thematically distinct activity areas that evoke a sense of childlike playfulness and imagination. The activities encourage visitors to be creative while experimenting with structures, circuits, and simple materials. The youngest visitors can also enjoy a developmentally-appropriate science education of their own in Preschool Place.
