Join the New York Philharmonic for Nights in the Garden of Spain, a lush homage to composer Manuel de Falla's homeland. At turns dramatic, sensual, moody and playful, it harkens images of moonlit nights, orange trees, bubbling fountains and flamenco dancers. This masterwork is just part of Spanish Nights, a show that will make you feel like you've been whisked away to a romantic evening in Spain. Spanish Nights also includes the ballet The Three-Cornered Hat, the story of a village love triangle, with Falla's dazzling score memorably integrating traditional Spanish folk melodies. The show begins with a tour of tantalizing Spanish dances accompanying ballet music from Massenet's Le Cid. Grammy-winning conductor Bramwell Tovey leads the New York Philharmonic at Lincoln Center's David Geffen Hall. They'll be joined by pianist Joyce Yang, who's been praised by The Washington Post as a "poetic and sensitive pianist ... capable of hurling thunderbolts."
