I want to give this as a gift to my father. Does he need an email address (I don't think he has one, but I can create one) and how does he log on to read. Can he log on with a kindle or a nook, or does he need to use his laptop?

Yes, he will need an email address to set up his account. If you are setting up the account for him, be sure that he uses the email address and password that you set up the account with - he will need this information in order to access his subscription. Also, be sure to wait to redeem the code until you are ready to give the gift - the subscription starts immediately once the voucher code is redeemed. You may want to give him the code and allow him to set up the account. He will have until Feb 27, 2013 to activate the subscription. This deal does not include eReader editions, but he can access it on his laptop.
