New York Vintners’ vino virtuosos help guests define and expand their personal wine tastes in an elegant atmosphere during palate-pampering classes. In the wine-and-cheese-pairing class, connoisseurs savor flights of wines tasted alongside gourmet cheeses by Artisanal, one of New York’s premium suppliers of fine cheese. Students who choose The Great Regions of Italy experience taste their way through Piedmont, Tuscany, Tre-Venezie, and Sardinia. As they drink one sparkling, three whites, and three reds, guests nibble on light antipasto and even lighter antimatter. For a food-focused experience, Executive Chef Ryan Smith demonstrates how to make gourmet flatbread pizzas using quality ingredients during the Pizza and Wines That Love It class. Throughout three small courses of pizza, students taste six food-friendly wines while discussing how to use their current stock of frozen pizzas as spare car tires.

Alternatively, cadres of 40 can sip with the masters during a private wine tasting and cooking party in the Vintners Room—New York Vintners’ configurable show kitchen and event space. After guests select their theme for the evening, they enjoy three-hours of interactive instruction, urbane dining, and wine tasting with guidance from a certified sommelier and Executive Chef Ryan Smith. For this event, New York Vintners creates custom-branded menus for corporations and pie-loving clown posses.

Smartly matched pairings and hands-on cooking instruction from Executive Chef Ryan Smith unpack the flavors even further. The staff keep a strong focus on terroir—the effect that environment has on a wine's flavor—as they select high-quality biodynamic and boutique wines for the shop's impressive, ever-changing list.

Customer Reviews

I love your classes! I know they are fancy and you feed us, which probably justifies the cost, but I personally think they are a bit expensive or I would do them all the time. One thing I hate is that I bought a few groupons hoping to go with my boyfriend and another couple and there are NEVER any classes with openings (unless they are at 4pm on a week day). Anyway, I still love your classes!
