About NEWrotic New York City Tours
Though it's known for landmarks such as the Statue of Liberty, the Empire State Building, and Times Square, New York City offers so much more. The "so much more" is what NEWrotic New York City Tours founder Mark Preven wants visitors to experience. Growing up as the son of an airline employee, his passport boasts stamps from all over the world, giving him a greater understanding of how to truly experience a new place and culture as a tourist. With this experience as a world traveler, along with an encyclopedic knowledge of the Big Apple, he puts together unique tours that whisk participants past the requisite attractions and into the cacophonous heart of the real city.
Mark's guided jaunts can take visitors to neighborhoods adorned with graffiti art and Old World religious architecture, or to the water's edges of Roosevelt Island, where guests can see almost all of Midtown Manhattan. One tour traipses to jazz legend Louis Armstrong's home in Queens, while another takes visitors to the American Museum of the Moving Image to learn about the city's history with movie making. Regardless of the tour they choose, participants get to experience the New York that locals live and breathe, making them feel like a native resident, if just for one day.
