We came from Texas and my kids loved it so much we went back a second night. The staff was amazing. We will visit Nickel City every time we return to Chicago.

The place could benefit from more thorough cleaning. The Friday we got there a half hour after the place opened and there was noticeable trash on and surrounding the games, the floors were in need of vacuuming and the bathroom was not the cleanest considering we were the only customers at the time.

This place is great for kids in the ages of about 5 to adult... It's not great for small kids but they have PLENTY of FREE games kids can stay busy for hours for very little cost!!

What You'll Get

Video games improve eye-hand coordination by requiring fast finger-work and switching into "stop hitting yourself" mode at random. Improve your reflexes with today's Groupon: for $10, you get admission for two, 120 nickels, two slices of pizza with up to two toppings, and two small drinks at Nickel City in Northbrook (up to a $21.50 value).

At Nickel City, a pantheon of games stands ready to dispense diversion for the paltry price of one—or several—nickels. Admission (a $2/person value) grants access to more than 100 nickel-operated games, so customers can live out their car-racing, dance-battling, and foie-gras-fighting dreams. Defeat concentric circles during a game of skee-ball, or feel the thrill of stationary racecar driving to win rows of tickets, redeemable for prizes or high-fives. Thirty free-play video games, including Pac-Man, Tetris, and Mortal Kombat, keep thumbs flexible. Between battles, the famished fortify themselves with two pizza slices with up to two toppings (a $4.50 value each) and two small soft drinks (a $1.25 value each) before reentering the fray.

Nickel City offers its own deals at certain times of the week; plan ahead to make sure you're redeeming your Groupon at the most opportune time.
