Nisqually Valley Fly Fishing
Just outside Nisqually Wildlife Refuge, there's an oasis. If you crest the hill, you'll encounter a creek sheltered by trees. This pond is home to Nisqually Valley Fly Fishing, and it's a stillwater fishery stocked with about 300 steelhead rainbow trout—some weighing up to eight pounds. To keep the valley's ecosystem healthy, only six people are allowed to fish at a time, fishers release what they catch. Nisqually Valley Fly Fishing welcomes fly-rod brandishers of all levels, even beginners, and there's no license required.
