Homes eventually start to resemble their owners, which is why insomniacs' apartments can't close their blinds at night and agoraphobics' houses are usually inside other houses. Discover new home neuroses with today's Groupon: for $8, you get one ticket to the Great Kitchen and Bath Tour from NKBA Puget Sound Chapter on May 14 and May 15 (up to a $20 value). One ticket is good for both days of the tour and there are 11 locations for ticket pick-up in Auburn, Bellevue, Everett, Ferndale, Redmond, Seattle, Tacoma, and Tukwila.
The ninth-annual Great Kitchen and Bath Tour wends its way through the custom cabinets and countertops of 12 Puget Sound residences, including a modern bathroom designed by Richard Pope & Dawn Ryan of Creative Kitchen + Bath and a remodeled kitchen created by Denny Conner. As ticket-holders arrive at each stop, they can browse glazed-tile backsplashes, run fingers along beveled countertops, admire brushed-nickel spigots, and check medicine cabinets for Flintstones vitamins before traipsing to the next location.
Tour takers can also collect interior design ideas from the designers themselves, who are on hand at each location to field questions and lasso runaway cabinets using tape measures. All proceeds benefit Seattle Children's Hospital uncompensated care.
