Noelia Italian Kitchen
Noelia Italian Kitchen's founder, Kaiser Gill, was frustrated. He wanted to take his wife out for dinner and dancing—their favorite date night—but he couldn't find a spot that did both in all of Washington, DC. So he opened such a place himself. His Italian eatery will soon boast a 1,400-square-foot dance floor that, thanks to a lively rotation of DJs and musicians, is filled with grooving couples until 2 a.m. on weekend nights.
Gill couldn't have brought his dream date spot to life without executive chef Carmen Gianna Piazza. Piazza spent more than 20 years living and cooking in Italy, even starting a restaurant there, before moving stateside so she could figure out if everyone really did get around on the backs of bald eagles. Now, she's the mastermind behind authentic dishes such as seared sea bass filet with wilted spinach, and huge ravioli filled with roasted eggplant, tomatoes, and mozzarella.
