Norman Bird Sanctuary nurtures nature’s most feathered inhabitants with more than 325 acres of diverse woodlands and habitats. More than seven miles of trails wind through the wildlife sanctuary’s forests, marshes, and open fields, providing visitors with up-close views of elusive species, awe-inspiring scenery, and pet rocks. With free trail access, members embark on solo missions to spy on great horned owls and peregrine falcons or gather for guided bird walks on select Sundays including November 27 and December 11. Seasonal events, such as the Holly Days celebration, provide members with discounted admission to crafts, raffles, and activities. Summer camps, which begin registration in February, are also available for members only. In addition to strengthening woodland communities, members help to sustain the sanctuary’s 19th century barn museum, children’s area, and educational programs to prevent rebellious young birds from sculpting their crests into feathery mohawks.

Customer Reviews

Norman bird sanctuary is one of my absolute favorite places in New England. They are very worthy of supporting, and their education outreach is something to be admired. I would recommend sending your children to their environmental education camp during the summers, or taking your family to a hike there. Beautiful year round, and quite honestly a fantastic organization run by fantastic people.
