Coffee-shop owner, barista, and coffee consultant Tony DiCorpo and his fellow bean specialists acquaint curious coffee sippers with the art of crafting brews during hands-on classes in the school’s full espresso bar. Students learn how to transform green coffee beans into mature java seeds by way of gentle roasting and exposure to sentimental coffee jingles. Next, the instructor demonstrates commercial roasting techniques on a flame-drum roaster before introducing equipment to be used to roast beans at home.

During the Home Enthusiast Barista Training and Semi-Professional Barista Training workshops, teachers brew espresso-based beverages. They impart techniques for pulling the perfect shot, frothing milk for lattes or cappuccinos, and advice for maintaining peak percolating conditions in home machines. In the six-hour course, students delve into making flavored, blended, and noncoffee drinks and honing bubbled-letter penmanship.

Troubadour Coffee Roasters

Coffee-shop owner, barista, and coffee consultant Tony DiCorpo and his fellow bean specialists brew tantalizing coffee at Troubadour Coffee Roasters using fresh coffee beans imported directly from farms and cooperatives. They roast the beans on-site and make each mocha, espresso, and cappuccino to order. The team also acquaints curious coffee sippers with the art of crafting brews during hands-on tastings in the coffee roastery's full espresso bar. Geared toward everyone from home enthusiasts to professional baristas and coffee-shop owners, participants taste gourmet coffee samples as hosts explain their characteristics, such as their origin and flavor.
