About North County Aikikai
Morihei Ueshiba was one of the most famed martial artists of his time, but the more he practiced, the more he realized the futility of constantly pursuing victory over others. Instead, he wanted to find reconciliation and peace within himself and with others. This philosophy was the birth of Aikido, the branch of Japanese martial arts taught by North County Aikikai.
In the spirit of O'Sensei, Coryl Crane (the dojo's founder) and her team of instructors teach the use of self-control and discipline. They guide participants through specialty movements used to avert an attacker without causing unnecessary harm. Their emphasis on remaining calm, centered, and active is a constant in their classes, making Aikido a source of increased self-awareness as well as heightened physical fitness.
