The zip lining was awesome and staying in a tepee was definitely something one of a kind! Unfortunately, the tepees were much closer together than it was portrayed to me as well as online and the community fire pit area had been taken over by a large family so we were not able to enjoy it. All in all, I would definitely go back but simply skip the over night stay.

In North Georgia Canopy Tours’ two-hour excursions, up to eight participants brave the wilderness, hiking over trails in two nature walks, traversing thrilling sky bridges, and sliding down nine ziplines, including a 695-foot dual zipline over the Hilltop Pond. Certified guides train visitors in braking techniques and outfit them with harnesses, lanyards, and helmets before ascending 70 feet in the air, giving guests a falling balloonist’s-eye view of the sturdy steel cable system. In addition to flying by wire through the leafy canopy, guests consume fact-nuggets about the forest and its wildlife fed to them like nutritious leaves by a lively nature guide. Photographers document zipliners’ historic voyages through the trees, giving guests either a flash drive full of desktop-ready shots or a souvenir monochromatic T-shirt. Though not included in this Groupon, North Georgia Canopy Tours lets campers that set up their own tents ($20–$25/night), occupy authentic Native American teepees ($90–$199/night), and build man-sized bird nests.

About North Georgia Canopy Tours

In 2001, the first of many ziplines began to sprout from the grounds surrounding the Old Mill Farm. The cows would inspect the strange contraptions quizzically, but they soon grew comfortable with the droves of smiling guests whooshing overhead. Today, spread across more than 100 acres near the North Oconee River in Lula, Georgia, North Georgia Canopy Tours lead groups on high-flying adventures. Available for purchase, photo packages and GoPros can commemorate the adventure. The tours entertain guests with serene views and exhilarating activities, as ziplines reach up to 70 feet off the ground and extend as far as 850 feet, allowing zipliners to catch glimpses of flying squirrels migrating south in V formation. Staff also welcome visitors to stay overnight in 15 campsites and several authentic Native-American teepees equipped with amenities such as electricity and air conditioning. The walls of each teepee bear custom-painted Cherokee symbols representative of the seven Cherokee Clans, for which North Georgia Canopy Tours' seven campgrounds are named.
