I took my daughters and their friends on a adventure that they will always remember. It was amazing and they really felt like they accomplished something. We are already planning our next adventure with them. Can't wait!

Choose Between Two Options

Depending on climbing conditions, groups will meet either in Auburn, MA or at Crawford Notch State Park in the White Mountains. From there, an expert instructor will guide beginning climbers through the basics of ice climbing, including how to judge the safety of the ice, choosing optimal crampon placements, and swinging an ice axe in a way that is both effective and reminiscent of Paul Bunyan. All technical gear is provided, though climbers are advised to bring their own boots or rent them for an additional cost. View the FAQ for suggestions on what to wear and bring.<p>

About North Ridge Mountain Guides

North Ridge Mountain Guides founder Jamie Leahy first fell in love with scaling peaks while tackling the heights of Mount Washington. The Instructor has since defied gravity on inclines of ice and rock around the United States and in Ecuador, summiting peaks of more than 19,000 feet to touch the sky and harvest his crops of clouds by following a simple philosophy: climb hard, climb safe. This mantra guides his approach to teaching the ins and outs of belaying and rappelling and steers the expeditions he leads up the less-traveled routes of Mount Monadnock. He also shares the art of ice climbing with pupils during introductory courses that delve into subjects such as crampon placement, swinging an ice axe, and how to read the ice, which often obscures its messages in Wingdings fonts.
