Super friendly and very knowledgeable instructors. They make you feel very comfortable. I'm not a beginner but I took a couple of their beginner classes because it had been quite a few years since I'd last gone. Because of my past experience (with other schools) and not needing much coaching, I was able to view them with first timers from the outside and I can tell you that you couldn't ask for better teachers for your intro to rock climbing. I'm looking forward to my intermediate level climbs with them!

What You'll Get

If the Indiana Jones films have taught us anything, it is that in order to have a successful teaching career, one must train one’s upper body to be adept at dangling. Channel your inner action hero with this Groupon.

Choose Between Two Options

  • $79 for an introductory rock-climbing course for two (a $190 value)
  • $139 for an introductory rock-climbing course for four (a $380 value)<p>

Guides certified by the Professional Climbing Guides Institute keep a 6:1 student-teacher ratio as they shepherd fledgling climbers up inclines. The 5- to 7-hour course begins on the ground, where instructors fit students with gear, explain basic climbing moves, and demonstrate how to hail a taxi by yodeling. Later, pupils put their newly acquired crag-climbing knowledge to use as they amble up cliffs of various surface types and heights before dabbling in belaying, rappelling, and knot-tying techniques. The school provides necessary helmets, harnesses, shoes, and ropes, but students must bring their own sunscreen, snacks, and mountain-goat repellent. See the schedule of introductory rock-climbing courses.
